Words by Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss. Read on Scotsman.com
Meet Pale Fire - a six strong band of schoolfriends hailing from Airdrie and Coatbridge.
Their second album Husbands (named after the 1970 John Cassavetes film) is self-released, exclusively through BandCamp on 4 September (with all digital stores following from 9 September). Produced by Jamie Savage at Chem19 (The Twilight Sad, RM Hubbert), their melodic, expertly penned pop / rock comes with big choruses and a lilting Scottish accent reminiscent of Frightened Rabbit (Clucky) with a hint of R.E.M. It has earned the band airplay on BBC 6 Music courtesy of Don Letts and Tom Robinson, BBC Radio Scotland from Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio and John Kennedy at Radio X
Additionally, Booker prize-winning author James Kelman gave the group permission to incorporate lines from his short story If It Is Your Life into their song Various Witches. Visit https://palefireglasgow.bandcamp.com/
